Accepting God's gift of peace, I am free of the past and ready to live in the now.
Holding on to resentment or guilt can be so overwhelming that I feel as if I am carrying a heavy burden.
However, I have within me the capacity to forgive and to let go of the burden--releasing even a long-held grievance or hurt.
I call upon the indwelling peace of God to wash away any resentment or anger in my heart about my experiences. I let go; there is nothing to fear. I understand that I am safe, protected, and whole.
Through my willingness to accept God's peace as mine, I leave the past in the past. I live in the present moment--which is full with the presence of God, and full with peace, love, and acceptance.
"Therefore let all who are faithful offer prayer to you; at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach them."--Psalm 32:6
